Thanks for laying out my options, but I'm afraid I couldn't care less for whatever AI may or may not tell you.Originally posted by John2 View PostI think you're gullible and fall for misinformation Eternal, and that's why you're not able to provide a source.
I asked AI for a source and it said this:
"The claim that each non-working migrant costs the taxpayer approximately ?50,000 per year is not supported by available data. Research shows that while there are costs associated with public services like healthcare and education, migrants also contribute significantly to the economy through taxes and economic output. Specific cost figures like ?50,000 for non-working migrants are often disputed or lack a credible source."
If you think this is wrong, feel free to share a link.
If you're not willing or able to share a link that support your claim, feel free to recognise you're gullible and easily fall for misinformation.

It would be better if an average cost of migrants in hotels can be give.Originally posted by Eternal Optimist View PostThanks for laying out my options, but I'm afraid I couldn't care less for whatever AI may or may not tell you.
Add to that the doctor and nurse costs. Then you can add the dental and X-ray costs for TB.
The drugs they are prescribed.
The cost of processing the initial claim? The legal costs and the paperwork processing costs.
The transport costs to move them around the country etc.
Then if we could deduct the costs of the tax paid with the calculation of the costs for their families to be housed.
You can count the rent maybe, the energy bills and council taxes.
I would love to know how many of the recently entered migrants have actually cost compared to what they have contributed.
Wouldnt you John?
If you have this info then please share it by using a link.

That's a completely different issue though. EO was claiming that legal migrants, people who entered the county legally, but are not working for whatever reason, cost the taxpayer 50k per year.Originally posted by frogmiller View PostIt would be better if an average cost of migrants in hotels can be give.

Well at least that's what the hugely misleading claim that went flying into social media feeds of EO and like minded gullible chums was talking about. Whether EO is also conflating the two things is also unclear. But the 50k per year false rumour is only related to legal migrants, nothing to do with illegal immigrants.

Oh enough with your fantasies already. We both know that your 'non official figures' don't exist. Otherwise you would save face by linking to them.Originally posted by Eternal Optimist View PostI'm loving the irony here.
It's probably best for someone like you to stick to 'official' figures. I can assure you that you wouldn't like the reality of this matter, but like it or not you'll find out soon enough.
Sad but a very typical example of what politics and even science has become. You simply choose to follow the figures and reality that you want to believe, and only follow sources that double down on what you want to believe.

You're so incoherent you don't even appear to know what figures you're referring to. No wonder they're (as I predicted) nowhere to be found.
I'm loving the irony here.

It would still be interesting to see the figures all same.Originally posted by ragingpup View PostThat's a completely different issue though. EO was claiming that legal migrants, people who entered the county legally, but are not working for whatever reason, cost the taxpayer 50k per year.

I wonder what the figure is for 'born and bred' Brits? I only ask because some, who were on benefits when I left these shores in 1999 are still living that life on my return here in 2025. Shocking I know, but many of their offspring also seem to have gone into the 'family' business.Originally posted by frogmiller View PostIt would still be interesting to see the figures all same.

Unfortunately it is a way of life for some.

So as well as our own low life scrounges. We?re importing them too. Great economic sense.Originally posted by CAMiller View PostI wonder what the figure is for 'born and bred' Brits?
