Both went to Portugal to prove their fitness which they have done, the formality of signing the paperwork is now being done. As ever until that is signed there is always a risk.
As an aside Barnsley have lost out on Josh Karoma in a similar way to us losing Wiredu, medical done all preliminaries done just paperwork left to sign and they have been gazumped.

They are on trial by the sounds of it Yearwood didn't impress last night so why give him a contract here?

          • The EFL rules do not specify a limit on the number of friendly matches a trialist can participate in.
            Competitive Matches:
Trialists are generally excluded from playing in official EFL league matches.
            Trial Period Duration:
A trial period at an Academy club typically lasts for a maximum of six weeks, which can be extended.
            Restrictions:
Trialists cannot play in Academy matches organized by the League.
            Consent Required:
If a player is already on trial at another club or registered with a club, consent is usually required for a trial to be offered.

Moreover, it was stated on dee dar radio last night he turned Barnsley down and went to Orient for less money so what's going off there? I know he started his career off at Orient so maybe sentimental ties and with the area?

Or, is there something afoot he didn't like to hear about and are Barnsley in a financial mess?

                • Lucky escape dingles never rated Karoma just another cut inside wide player.

More likely it was because Koroma is from Southwark, London and probably still has family there.

If you believe he has moved to London, a much more expensive city than Barnsley and taken less money, then you need your bumps felt.
Barnsley hierarchy trying to soften the blow for the fans.
Personally think they have dodged a bullet

                        • Just seen Advertiser article about the Dutch defender we are supposed to be after. Says he has played all his career in Holland and was born in Rotterdam, I misread it as Rotherham at first.

Is that how we hope to persuade him? This could be Rotherham, or anywhere. Liverpool or Rome. Cos Rotherham is anywhere, anywhere alone.

I think that was the original lyric.
