To be fair you say that about every player we get. A stopped clock is right twice a day.

So name them, I can only think of 3 this season. Edwards, Cundy and Ness.

Are cart horse footballers not crap now*? I never knew.

A clear case of throwing stones in a glass house.

    * - excluding David McGoldrick obviously.

Don't get me wrong I think Palmer is an excellent player but he's not vocal enough for my liking. We need prepoer leadership on the pitch and I think freeing Matt from this will see his game return to how it was without the added pressure. I've no idea who that will be, maybe someone we bring in like an experienced ball winning midfielder.

Hopefully we'll take the forward line a bit more serious this season. Jatta is frustating and often looks a little lost and out of the game. His red card was just stupid and now leaves us a striker short of the 2nd leg and final if we make it.

I'd wouldn't be surprised to see Maynard replaced as the run in was nothing short of disastrous! We should have gone up in an automatic spot this year as it was a poor league. Only 2 teams actually managed to get over 80 points.

I commented on Didzy last year, but you were banned from the site Laddo . If you recall, (Oh sorry you wouldnt) he couldnt get into the side at the beginning of last season, He was slow and ponderous, thats why i made a comment.. As for being crap, there is a big difference between the two. You can be crap and still be the fastest player on the pitch. I would have thought someone with you minimum amount of intelligence would have figured that one....

Yes that?s right December last year, importantly over four months into this season. That?s a long time after the beginning of last season, who cares what he was like in August/ September 2023 half way through this season? Bizarre

Don?t worry a fair few remember the now infamous comment, safe to say he hadn?t had his day in December 2024 and he shouldn?t be discarded and put out to graze as you suggested this season.

Thankfully for all us fans Stuart Maynard and the club felt the opposite.

Slow and ponderous at start of last season but this season ?..

League Two team of the season

I?ll admit I thought Edwards was going to be a good signing, and in my defence I felt he was coming into form before his injury when we?re employing a high press. He was great in the Grimsby home game. Since then his appearances have been limited and ineffective but maybe we are just not using him or the system correctly.

The midfield is a big problem. If Palmer is going to stay then I don?t think it can be in a two man midfield, I think he?d be better playing deeper behind two number eights, which we don?t have. Robertson was signed to be that muscle but I think he is a bit of a myth to be honest, he?s never really shone and has a bad tendency to give the ball away in dangerous positions.

Hinchy? Well, he?s shown signs of being decent but that?s it. He reminds me of Ed Francis. Not done much for us but could leave and excel elsewhere. Whitaker? Very raw, wouldn?t be disappointed to see him signed but wouldn?t lose any sleep if he left, I thought Josh Martin was a much better all round player.

I think we are at least three midfielders of varying styles, a RCB, a RWB, and a striker short of staying in league one next year when we get promoted.

You're right, but you are out of sync a bit with your seasons. We do need those positions filled so we can get promotion next season. If we had brought in two of those midfielders in January then we could have looked for the others to keep us in L1 next season

I think we need them this season.
