We definitely need backup in defence if Baldwin is out for a while and generally injury prone, also up front. It’s worth bearing in mind though that many of our successful seasons have been achieved with relatively few team changes. Keep em fit and don’t get suspended!
I see Haughton won NLN player of the month in September (also scored twice on Saturday). Only issue there is his age - 28 - which wouldn't generally make him a Radar target. I was also impressed by Ryan Colclough when we played Alty the other week, but he's also 28 in December, so a similar "problem" there.

However, if we're aiming to go up, maybe we will need a few more signings of players in their late 20s who will hopefully have a few more great seasons in them, but perhaps don't not have any great resale value? (Worth noting that Ben Davies was also 28 when we signed him in 2009 and he definitely had a good resale value when we sold him about 18 months later.)

Young loanees are clearly more of a gamble than experienced pros (most for us have been more miss than hit in recent seasons), and there's obviously something to be said for not relying too much on loanees in a promotion race - as our neighbours would tell you.

Hopefully, someone in the media will ask LW this week if Saturday's defeat told him anything about the quality of his squad depth and if he's now looking to reinvest some of that Cal Roberts cash (especially with no transfer window at this level). The best teams always strengthen when they're at the top - that's why they stay there.
