The thing is though the pant pishers are more delusional in thinking that sacking McInnes will all of a sudden turn us into this brilliant to watch team that challenges the cheeks and wins cups on a regular basis.
Why anyone thinks a manager is going to come in and do all that after 1 trophy and dire football in the last 20 odd years is bizarre.
Still, feel free to keep moaning about McInnes on a forum,it’s made a difference for the last 5 years![]()
I’m not sure anyone thinks that.
To me the football is secondary at the moment anyway. The changes are needed off the field first. Easy to do & cost next to nothing. Getting rid of the hun dunce would just be a bonus
I’m pretty sure a lot of people think that.
There’s plenty of posts of people saying we need to get rid of McInnes because the football is boring and we need to move on to the next level.
I’ve got no problem in getting rid of McInnes but I’m realistic enough to know it won’t take us to the next level and the football will still be boring to watch.
I think Rico, what 99% of people are saying (me certainly) like you suggest in your last paragraph is that DM has done a good job but has taken us as far as he can.
If we have ambition to go further, we need a new manager in the Clarke mould who can make the best of limited resources. DM has done that as far as he’s capable but he’s hit the proverbial glass ceiling.
Yes, it might go tits up & leave us worse off, but I’m happy to take the punt & give it a try cause I’m bored rigid.
The big elephant in the room issue is of course that the Alford neep chooses the next guy & that gives me the fear same as any other sane dandy...
Not really, I would be happy to have Clarke as our manager but I don’t think he will take us any further as you put it.
It’s not just McInnes who has hit a glass ceiling it’s us as a club and the only way we are going to get any better is with major investment in the squad.
The way things are going with the club focusing on the new stadium we will only get worse, you could argue that Clarke would be better suited to us if our budget is going to decrease but he is never going to take us further than McInnes has.
