Personally I think the best place for the statue would have been in a museum in Bristol showing its relevance to the past. Churchill is even harder, clearly a hero of the country but also guilty of summer despicable acts.

Plenty of examples of riots and protest going back hundreds of years, usually ending with the king caving in then when it calms down the ring leaders heads roll.
