Are you making this up as you go along OC, or possibly getting this nonsense from desperate journos at the Grauniad or BBC ?

The increased number of 'infections' is an artefact of an increased number of tests. There cannot be a 2nd Wave of infections because there was no 1st wave to compare it to, as there was so little testing being done back in April and May. The 1st Wave of Covid 19 is always referenced by the number of deaths, a predicted 2nd Wave was always referring to another surge in the number of deaths. I can't believe I'm having to explain this to you OC, you sure you're not just taking the piss ?

From the BMJ,

"Second wave predictions

The Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) produced a now-leaked report outlining the second wave worst case scenario for the government on 30 July. The document, published by the Spectator,3 said that there could be 85 000 deaths across the UK between 1 July 2020 and 31 March 2021, with daily deaths exceeding 500 for at least 90 days."

Perhaps you should get in touch with SAGE and the British Medical Association and tell them they've got it wrong ? I could put up many more links showing the predicted 2nd Wave was a wave of deaths, but I don't see why I should waste my time, do you ?
