IB has a lot of good qualities, and I can see why his former clubs fans, and even ours like him so much, but let’s be honest, we’re barely any better (if any in terms of results) than we have been since our relegation. The same problems persist, which is mind boggling…..is this the owners meddling or the manager’s incompetence?

IB should get the rest of the season to turn this round but do we really want to see another season of ‘Burchball’? Is anyone convinced that another year at the helm would see us progress into a tougher unit? If, as I expect, we suffer a similar defeat in the playoffs as to the one witnessed last night, I think he should leave at the seasons end.

Luke Garrard has shown he understands how to get a team performing in this league.
I certainly hope Burchnall’s here next season. As Pedro suggested in another thread and many have eluded too, we don’t need major surgery. A few tweaks.

I don’t believe the owners meddle. Yes, they have a blue print that they want Burchnall to deliver. They’ve given him a tool box and their expectations.

Burchnall strikes me as an intelligent bloke, I’m sure he’s been learning along the way. If we are in this division next season, it will be interesting to see how the squad shapes e.g. will Burchnall tell the owners what he/we need and will it be addressed.

I think last night illustrates perfectly how little we've learned in the past 3 seasons as to how to build a team to get us out of this League. Turned over by a Chessie 2nd string, who simply showed more physicality, grit, desire and determination than we did. We're simply too nice a team and as AC said last night, we don't have the players in our squad to address the problems we have.

You were saying the same about Sam not long ago.

How dare you call Ruben lazy!!!???

I've got a lot of posts to get through from last night's game plus I need to tally up or the fans who didn't comment after Saturday's victory but have emerged after tonight's very disappointing defeat. Could take some time but I can't let that statement go by without highlighting and challenging.

He didn't, his actual words were "at best inconsistent at worst just plain lazy and wasteful". I wouldn't call Ruben lazy, but he is definitely inconsistent. He has at least as many ineffective games as good games, and for a player who is supposed to be way too good for this level for whatever reason he's not performing anywhere near as well as he should be doing.

Why do you need to do that? We know some posters are more active after a defeat than a win, it's the same on any football messageboard.
Is anyone bothered apart from you?

I think Laddo’s comment was tongue in cheek

Don't you hate it when you get chewing stuck to the bottom of your shoe?

Was he lazy last night Elite? The reason I ask is he certainly wasn't in the previous two games, worked hard to win the ball back and track backed often even when comfortably winning.

It appears Ruben's performances have dropped off since the new year and all that interest in him from higher placed clubs, coincidence? Perhaps not. Although nobody should have expected to remain 'on fire' as he was early doors this season, he's had a fine productive season to date. Am I in a position to accurately and fairly judge RR's contribution with the total numbers of games I have been to this season? I am not sure but can judge on what I have seen. (Some) others are far better placed.

Elite, although factually correct, it was said very much tongue in cheek. Forget more active, it amuses me that they are dormant and don't post at all when we win but suddenly wake up and a full of beans when we lose.

In answer to your question, yes I believe at least one or two others are, or it at least amuses them too. Ironically that question has been asked of you many many times before by more than one person, but you don't need telling that do you?

That reminds me must go do a bit of ironing today.

Maybe Roberts is on his way to Chesterfield judging by the conversations he was having at the end with the chessie players.
Burchnall is becoming telegraphic with his Subs, Its always the same two players in Vincent and Sam who come off. There were far worse players on the pitch other than those two who could and should have come off..

Well we can kiss goodbye to any hopes of finishing 1st, We will be lucky to get into the play offs ...
THIS, AGREE WITH EVERY THINK Durham has to say. Many criticised me when I kept calling for Sam to be given his chance. He has now become our best performing player, which likely means I. B will drop him out the team like he did Vincent, who's confidence looks shot now. Thought IB was a good coach?
