    It is scary how quickly we as a club have lowered the bar in recent years. I'm guilty of it myself. The first season down here, I expected us to turn teams over home and away. Getting to the playoff final didn't even feel that big of a deal at the time.

    Now, a playoff final seems almost out of reach, and when I look at the fixture list and see Bromley or Altrincham or Boreham Wood away, I think 'I can't see us getting anything there.'

    It's shocking. I sometimes have to remind myself that I watched us play Man Utd in the top division, and I'm still in my 30s (just).

    I appreciate that the current owners have restored some stability and dignity to the club. They've also brought in some pretty decent players. But at this point, we need to see some progress on the pitch. We've never really challenged for the title in the last three seasons. This coming season, we have to be there or there about - or people will start to get pissed off.
