When Kingsway Circus at Strathmartine Road was built the Kingsway it was the bypass of Dundee not the main road from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Aberdeen.
Trams used to sit in the middle of the Kingsway Circus at Strathmartine Road.

Bypass now runs thru middle of the town.

Queen's funeral the guy said the sparsely populated north of the Kingsway ....no sure but I'd hazard a guess most of the population lives north of the Kingsway.

It's lucky old Betty's funeral cortege didn't have to turn left onto Strathie Road off Kingsway. The death toll might've been horrendous.

I'm trying no to laugh at your merciless baiting of Islay over the strathmartine circus but I'm failing miserably.

I'd love to see Islay in charge of town planning......just for a few weeks .....be funny.

I sincerely hope that type of thing never happens, a few weeks would be enough time for him to mess up the entire traffic sytem. He'd turn Kingsway into a car park but only have one exit on the entire road which would be onto Strathie Road and it would only be permissable to exit by turning right.

Correct as Strathmartine Road was closed and members of the public were standing where it joins the Kingsway Circus to get a better view.

I would close Strathmartine Road south of the Kingsway as far as Park Road with access only for local residents and the 22 bus service which recently happened when Tayside Contracts carried out resurfacing work of Strathmartine Road between Kingsway Circus and Binstead Avenue.
On that occasion the 22 bus service was diverted.

It was carriageway resurfacing.
