I trust I can rely on your vote?
All food that is moist and hot along with most drinks is subjected to VAT at 20%. Some women too should perhaps be subject to VAT, even at say 10%, in these trying fiscal times - maybe a topic for discussion at one of the Green Party’s sponsored luncheons, Lorna?

1 May, 1984 was the date that the late Baroness Thatcher introduced VAT on takeaway food - I don’t remember that at all as I couldn’t even afford a takeaway back then and we had very few takeaway food outlets in Shetland at that point in time anyway!

I thought it was a bit of whataboutery as is was posted in the 'Son of Toolmaker' thread.

You'll get no arguments from me about them all being at it, but clothes for your Wife takes some beating.

It’s truly lamentable TheDeeDon, why can’t Vintage buy his wife her own clothes!? They’re certainly all at it!

How would you broach the VAT-on-women question? If it was to be approached similarly to the 1984 VAT introduction on takeaway food, you’d need to get in the bit about “moist and hot”, surely? Maybe, though, if it was proposed at 10% then “damp and warm” would suffice!?

I've heard he's a bit tight with his millions and the paltry allowance he gives his Wife to look after the house doesn't cover such luxuries like clothing.

I looked up the clothes story after seeing it here - genuinally first time I've even seen his wife. I don't even know her name. Not like shes out there doing 'public service'.

Pound to a penny if Rayner or Cooper had been PM the rich bloke wouldn't have been donating suits for their other half.

    Creepy AF. Creepy.
