    Seems a pity we can’t judge the UK today by the number of official inquiries that have been deemed necessary over the last 15-20 years or so. Must be the biggest growth industry in the country.

    No, rA. That's food banks. Pleased to see the correct use of "inquiry". Far too many people mix in and en up.

    Enquire means to ask a question in a general way or in a way that doesn't require an in-depth answer. Inquiry means to ask for information in a formal way, such as in an investigation
