I thought Notts started the game very well yesterday with an intensity not usually demonstrated in home games.
The turning point being the decision by the referee to stop the game, for an apparent injury to 27 Crew , once the ball reached their GK. The accepted norm was that the referee was only supposed to blow for a stoppage when a head injury or a very serious injury was obviously apparent ?
The game was restarted with a dropped ball to their GK at least 12 yards further forward than the stoppage position with Donny immediately opening the scoring.
A strange bench yesterday considering Notts needed to win the game with neither Traore or Morais being considered to be worth a gamble.

As stated on BBC Radio Nottm , Notts and Wimbledon have similar form stats since February with Notts 19/51 pts and WFC 18/48 pts.
Does this coincidence with the diminished coaching team and the departure of 2/3 of the management team ?
Maynard is obviously still training at the coal face but is it right that he should be blamed and abused for the current situation ??
Someone yesterday told me of the worst kind of abuse, allegedly, directed towards SM and his family which is entirely unacceptable .
All clubs have injuries during the season but the September injury to Jodi Jones v Gillingham
certainly derailed a fine start to the season and long term injuries to Robertson., Tsaroulla , Austin, Ness amongst others have also contributed to a disappointing end to the season.
In addition Maynard should not be held responsible for individuals missing chances or making errors.
I would say that there has been some tactical naivety particularly v Salford , Chesterfield , Walsall and Cheltenham.
Football is indeed a results based occupation and a managerial tightrope .
If SM is not sacked , the club certainly needs to bring in additional experienced back room staff and a review of fitness , strength and conditioning .
I was amazed at the massive number of back room staff that DRFC paraded out for the presentation yesterday.

I’m impressed that you stuck around after the game - I couldn’t bring myself to applaud the players and management on the lap of appreciation, which says everything about a season where we ended up in the playoffs.

We would have finished 5th last season with 72 points, but wouldn’t have made the playoffs in the 3 preceding seasons. 72 points would have left us 10th in 2021-22, which feels like a truer reflection of a side that lost 14 games.
