That's what I thought, Notts nearly came a cropper at the semi-final stage too. The system is supposed to favour the highest placed teams, but really it doesn't, that gap without a game is a disadvantage. So Hinshelwood is pretty much in the same position as Williams at the same stage. I would rather a manager who does it over 46 games than a play-off specialist. We have 3 spaces to aim for, not one, like the NL.

Having said that, I'm not yet convinced the bros won't appoint Alves, or just as bad, insist he carries on as assistant coach. The alternative would be to demote him.
