This is the way..not saying Matt Taylor was the right man but it was the right idea

By contrast, Paul Warne's philosophy (his only one really) is to sign big tall aggressive players who can indeed press for 90 minutes without crocking themselves. This served him well in lower divisions but he comes unstuck in the Championship where more flair and coaching ability are needed.

Agreed. But the style of play he was trying to get us to play, was a good idea.

I will explain again for those who didn't read my post thoroughly.

Matt Taylor's 'idea' of sitting back, playing patiently and counter attacking is the way forward if we are to survive in the championship. Charging about pressing etc will cause injuries especially as the season progresses.

Matt Taylor was not a good man- manager, nor was he good in the transfer market but his 'idea' of how to play was sound.

Taylor was a poor manager, and after a very good manager it was all the more striking. There are different approaches which can work at Championship level, just like any other level. Taylor's 'idea' was neither uniquely his, suited to the players we had, nor the only 'correct' idea.
