I actually think he's been a solid player for us, some of his strengths are decent such as his aerial ability and his long throw. Having said that, £3.5m is great business for a 30 year old and if the recruitment is right we should be able to find a better replacement who is a few years younger.

Is the Mepham deal part of this? Are we going to play 3 at the back? Is one of the centre backs going to play RB alla Pulis? Are we getting in another full back? Either way you can add McKenna to the long list of managers who consider Furlong is a decent full back!

Its being reported by the Athletic that we're close to signing a new RB. I imagine Campbell or Williams will play there on Saturday.

Just hope its someone decent. I do have faith in the recruitment process though, we're having a good window so far I think.

He was fairly solid until CC but since then he?s been poor in my view. Outpaced v Blackburn and Portsmouth on more than a few occasions and was asleep for Wrexham?s second goal. Great going forward and with throws but forgets how to defend.

Credit to Mason, he sees a hopeless full back when he sees one, what are Ipswich thinking, Townsend now Furlong, 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Big loss but cant argue about the money. I would like to see Williams given some time now. If he can do some of those perfect slide rule passes to fellows that Futlong has done for so long I will be happy. Hopefully Furlong will be better respected and appreciated at Ipswich. Legend 👍
