    Osula to Frankfurt

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports in Germany, Newcastle United striker William Osula and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a 'verbal agreement' in principle over a January move.

The forward is reportedly keen to join the Bundesliga side, who are suggesting an initial loan with an option to buy worth around ?20m, plus a loan fee of ?3m.

While the two clubs are now thought to be in contact, no final agreement has been reached on the package. The decision on Osula's winter exit now rests with Newcastle United.

I personally think this could potentially be a short-sighted move as could back-fire on us.

However, I totally get him wanting first team football and fact Gordon has been played over him as a striker, is maybe telling for him.

If he does go and we get 3 million euro loan fee and 20 million euro fee that adds up to 23 million euros which is ?20.2 million, which would be ?5 million profit on what we bought him for.

The word on the street is that it'll be a revolving door on the striker situation. Osula out Rayan Vitor the Brazilian coming in from Vasco de Gama.

I believe Bruno is a a Vasco fan as he's from that Barrio in Rio. I might be wrong.

If the money is 20m and Rayan can be acquired for 30-35 (current market value 18m Euro) that's a substantial upgrade to the striker pool.

Agree that if he goes without a replacement it's a bit short sighted indeed and a risk not worth taking until the summer.

Bit of a surprise, this one.

However, we won't wsell without a replacement so it'll be interesting to see who we bring in.

maybe he's a bit of a 'player', too...?

I think Osula wants this move and already wanted it in the summer where we obviously couldn't sell him as we didn't own a striker other than him and Judas who was on the move.

Let him go, invest the money in a young prospect - the Brazilian lad sounds interesting.

I didn't know Bruno supported Vasco, Raga - thought it was Athletico Paranaense, but youre right.

The rumblings are that the player wants to play first team football. Can't knock that. The lad's career is at that stage where he needs to be on the pitch more often than he's gonna get under Eddie.

Word on the street is that there will be a buy back clause included in the transfer and it'll be a 1-in-1-out situation.

With the injury issues the team has faced over the last few seasons with Wilson and the other one spending more time on the treatment table than liked. Wissa being absent since signing, going into the back end of the season with Wissa back in the fold is great but the two of them Woltemade and Yohan still need a 3rd.

What we have witnessed regarding specific recruitment with the signings of Hall and Tino, backed up by Repeated comments from Eddie, is that 'When the right player becomes available the club will go and get them.

Both the full-backs were absolutely no where near us fan's list of top targets let alone top of the list of targets when the club signed them. Large sections of the crowd were fuming that 'money was wasted' on future players.

I questioned the Hall signing as he wasn't playing, it was about the time Dan Ashworth and Eddie seemed to be on rough ground just before the midget's gardening leave and it all came out that Dinky Dan was back channelling official emails to the swamp dwellers and was on his way out the door.

Look at the quality of both of them now?

That is the kind of recruitment that needs to be ceased upon when that calibre of players becomes available.

Osula has potential, it's clear he's got all the attributes, perhaps except the mentality to really become an elite Prem goal scorer. A few years in Germany with a buy back clause would make the most sense to NUFC with a top quality recruit coming in to replace him.

Thankfully, Vasco are sh*t at the moments and arch rivals (and my favourite team here: Flamengo) have just won the Libertadores and league in the last week so thats keeping her quiet!!!
