Of the thousands, if not, millions of words written by fans about the club, its ownership, management, players, performances, the one element commonly lacking is perspective.

When the wages cap was removed in the 1960’s Bob Lord predicted that it would spell the end of small town clubs like Burnley. Then a First Division club. Post his time the club has gone down to nearly exiting the FL, to ending 7th in the PL and qualifying for Europe under Dyche. Yet even the latter was not enough. Dycheball condemned by one and all.

The expectation is that, somehow, the Clarets will win the PL, the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Champions League not just once, but every season.

Rather than attacking ALK, although serious mistakes have been made, fans would do well to remember the words of Bob Lord and be grateful that the club still exists so that we all have something to moan about week in and week out.

Agreed 100% S_c, but I absolutely believe we could be much better versions of ourselves.

Twice now we have blown the Championship to shreds and failed to capitalise on the promotion momentum.

I communicate every day either in person or on social media in all matters Clarets & Blue and that is the common gripe amongst the majority of Burnley fans apart from most agree that Pace is too distant.

I think next season will be seminal. Failure to achieve yet another promotion on the bounce could be a financial disaster and still we have no manager at the elm with the new season 8 weeks away.

I really fear that Pace's luck is about to run out.

Doesn't look like his luck is running out. Everton have been ordered to pay us 35 million compo

I had a box in the JH stand for over 10 years and not once did I meet Garlick or any of the other board members. I believe that Pace does the rounds regularly and introduces himself to box holders. He is far more approachable than Garlick and the old cronies

Rob Edwards is available now. Strange that Wolves appointed him with a view to their being a Championship club this season and now that is the reality they have sacked him.
