After WW2 the Russian government banned all western music and so a bootleg industry grew, some of the bootlegs was cut onto old X-rays and if you put your album up to the light bones could be seen through it
I’ve heard of these but never seen one in person as they’ve become collectors items to some people for their novelty value, they looked like Flexi discs that you got free with some magazines if you remember those from the 80’s

I bet it’s corked.
On about the Russians, during the Cold War their customs officials were convinced that a bloke was smuggling. He was in and out every week and no matter how carefully they searched his luggage they never found anything. In the end he announced that he was retiring so they said to him that he might as well tell them what he’d been smuggling all those years and they wouldn’t charge him, they just wanted to know. So he told them.
Suitcases.

I’m not entirely sure that your story is true griff as I’ve heard different versions of the same story over the years and apart from anything Russians aren’t known to take smuggling lightly and suspect that they would take the smuggler out back “for a quiet word”Last edited by chaincey.ncfc; 09-09-2024, 02:51 PM.

Venus is the only planet that spins clockwise,it travels around the sun once every 225 Earth days but clockwise once every 243 days
Sometime that I don’t understand though, whilst looking through various interesting facts for this fun packed thread I read that the sun is 400 times the size of the moon yet when we get a total eclipse the moon fits over the sun exactly,I mean it’s a perfect fit covering it,now I know thst the moon is nearer than the sun so looks bigger but to be perfect in covering the sun needs further explanation
Come back Stefan,I miss you

You don’t need Stefan mate, if you want the answers go to the experts…

Now I could understand the moon looking smaller as it crosses the path of the sun or even bigger if the moon was nearer to Earth but to fit exactly over the sun is a fascinating scenario that can’t be explained by some cows being nearer than the ones farther away by Father Ted
I couldn’t have got this tomfoolery from Stefan griff, very disappointed in you
