You may wish to consider though that at the last (2017) General Election she increased her majority by around 11,000 to over 35,000 whilst winning a remarkable 75% of the vote.
Must be doing something right then, unless it’s all those ‘commies’ and IRA sympathisers in Hackney North and Stoke Newington.

Just for information and by way of comparison...Johnson’s majority was halved at the same GE and of course your favourite - Mr. Mirage - didn’t stand having failed on seven previous occasions to get elected, but that’s democracy for you.

In an attempt to put politics back on the political/Brexit thread...is this the ‘Brexit Election’ or not?

That is exactly what it is being called in some quarters while others are suggesting that there are far more important issues than just Brexit at stake.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that the three main parties are falling over themselves to make promises as regards such ‘far more important issues’ - the NHS, police and education funding, housing etc - but while such ‘promises’ usually prove fairly meaningless they are particularly so in 2019 because no one has a clue what Brexit is going to cost and what the ultimate economic implications are going to be for spending on essential public services.

Judging by the number of deals being done - although of course never by ‘honest Boris’ - it is, most definitely the ‘Brexit Election’ but if, as I suspect, the result is another minority government or ‘hung Parliament’ where the hell do we go from there?

P.S. That is no sort of an argument in favour of ‘just get it done’. Much too important for that.

It’s not actually ‘my’ second Referendum is it? Although it may be becoming increasingly unavoidable.
As you know, I’ve got little faith in the current Labour regime although it’s a damned site better than the ERG dominated alternative imo.
One of their more sensible ideas though seems to be a second referendum with the choice between a deal which we all know the contents of vs Remain, so Labour do have some sort of policy which is infinitely better than what happened in 2017 when ‘we’ voted without knowing any of the conditions of leaving the EU.

I don’t think so...but it is an election that I doubt will actually clear the way forward so it may actually lead to a referendum.

Johnson’s new Tory Party is an abomination that I could never vote for.
Corbyn and Co. appear as well intentioned incompetents.
The Lib Dems would stop Brexit, which obviously I favour, but I have to acknowledge as being wholly undemocratic without a second Referendum.
The Greens speak a lot of sense but will probably get insufficient support to make a difference in these circumstances.
Spoiling the ballot paper? Complete waste of time.

So...what to do? Vote for whoever I eventually think will beat the Tory who happens to be a new candidate - a solicitor from down your way I believe - who doesn’t even live in the constituency.

Corbyn, wants to negotiate a deal to stay in the customs union and single market.
In effect then, staying in. That will entail freedom of movement, EU law, no trade deals and a still paying in.
