Even if there was an offer, any such deal would take a couple of months at least if not more (depending on whether it was a purchase of a share or a full takeover.

Personally I sincerely hope Appleby does not get anywhere near the club again, given the lack of progress made under his direction last time.
That’s disappointingly emphatic. I share your lack of enthusiasm for Appleby but was hoping for something from the Home Depot guy.
I’m surprised, given that we seem to tick so many boxes in terms of potential investors but, in David Clowes we trust.

Its from somebody who knows RA, there is an active search for a suitable investor, but nothing imminent. Knowing the way Clowes likes to do business, it will be done discretely and there will be an emphasis on suitable!

I'd also add, that there funds available to strengthen the squad, no figures given but it should be enough to assemble a competitive squad for the new season.

That would be rA's 9 centre backs all bought then 😄

I hear Eustace is planning a 1-9-1 formation next season. Parking the juggernaut rather than the bus!

Another one of rAs 9 at the back bites the dust as O'Connor joins Reading....

I had the misfortune of scrolling through X (Twitter) just now, there are some fans genuinely angry that we haven't made signings yet.

Doh, the transfer window is closed! Players on holiday and of course the ones we are after are playing in the FIFA Club World Cup!

Either they are dim or over entitled. They will be moaning we haven't spent millions on transfer fees next.

While its nice to get signings in early, I'd rather we got the right signings in and if that takes time so be it.

Eustace now going for 1-8-2 formation thinks we might need 2 up front to score the odd goal!

Brighton have confirmed Cashin to go out on loan. Surely if to a championship club we have to be candidates. Be good to have him back.

I can see where you coming from, but for me, its a no, rather have a good permanent signing than a temp loan.

I reckon we will have loans. Phillips did well. Ozoh would have done if not for injury. Armstrong excellent.

It will be part of our plan I think. PL players who aren't quite ready for the PL will be part of the plan. Cashin fits that brief.

Of course be nice to build a team of our own players but I reckon we will have 4 or 5 key loans.

Not going over old ground (and I never mentioned nine GP) but let’s not forget, we do already have Jake Rooney, Sondre Langas, Craig Forsyth, Matt Clarke and Curtis Nelson who are all proven in CD.
Cash will always be welcome in my book, but he is likely to cost big wages and can’t really afford to be a third or fourth Championship club choice.
Personally I think Sanderson, who JE has had at both Birmingham and Blackburn, seems the most likely but we’ve surely only got room and the financial resources for a maximum of one more CB.

Your right, we will have some loans, I didn't make it clear that it was Cashin I didn't see as a viable loan. AS RA says we gave a number of proven CB, though Forsyth is surely going to be a bit part player and more likely cover at LB, Rooney has yet to prove himself on a consistent basis, due to injury and of course Nelson is recovering from a nasty injury, so there's a question mark over those two. I can't see it would serve Cashin's development to come back to Derby on loan though.

                            • Rumours Barry Bannan a target. Hopefully just that. don't get me wrong decent player but not a forward step.

If you have any money, loans are the only way out for you.
Cash is tight, but the price of one decent player could bring in 4-6 quality loans. Probably from prem teams. Prem teams want to loan out to teams that will improve their players, a relegation scrap isn't it.
Seeing you bring in other prem loans would soften them
We actually got promoted on that very premise. (though you will need a lot of money should you go up)
