Yeah but as a promoted club you need the certainty and the time to work with the new players so that you have a cohesive squad and tactics and can start the season well.

Everything is stacked against the teams going up so if you want to stay up you need to do everything to create small advantages.

If you have made some decent signings it probably helps to bring in the ones that are harder to land as they can see the club is serious too.

Solomon we could probably have got across the line and agreed a deal with Spurs immediately post promotion and at the start of the last window but we waited and then things changed at Spurs so Solomon thinks he has a chance there.

So far we have a free line with an injury record and a CB who looks to be good but who is untested in the PL.

The Rangers purchase must have been a slight distraction too as Maratha only has so many hours in the day. They also committed to Farke quite late so maybe that meant the transfer targets were more fluid than they otherwise might have been.

Brentford have a very good transfer system whether buying or selling - they knew they wanted Kellaher so day one of the window - deal done.

Most of us think we need at least another 6 players in - leaving all of those to the end of the window would seem very very risky given all the public utterances if we have a kitty and we know what we are doing.

Don't disagree but I do think we have a stronger squad going up that any of the last 6 to go up and down. Really wish we had locked up Solomon right away. If we get a striker, left back and another Center back I do think we are sitting OK to start season. Have to get another keeper. That is getting critical at this point.

Assuming we don?t sell them is Farke likely to play

Not sure what Farke thinks of Schmidt either - I saw him live a few times last year and he looked decent but he is right footed and not a LB and he didn?t get very much game time at all.

Ramazani was first picked till his injury, even then, the few games he has played scored 7 goals. Stats-wise, far superior to what Solomon produced. But you're right, Farke has and will destroy any chance we have with some quality. Ohh Creswell, where art thou or van, whatever your name is, turned into a wanted Goalkeeper in Italy when he never got a look in. Farke is an idiot, and everyone is about to find out.
