It is slightly worse than Neal Ardleys last eight and not a collapse.

Its all about win ratios when it comes to challenging in the top seven, not scraping draws after being two goals behind in games as all that does is paper over the cracks.

As I said on another thread both Neal Ardley in his last eight games and Ian Burchnall in his first eight have a matching 25% win ratio. Both winning two from eight. Both managing six games where we did not win.

That is not good enough for mid table let alone playoffs and automatic is miles away from that. The reality is it has gone from bottom third form in Neal Ardleys last eight to relegation form in Ian Burchnalls last eight.

It’s a tough gig to be consistently playoff and promotion contenders at this level. You have to be winning 40-50% of your games to be in with a shout of the playoffs and 50% or more for automatic.

This team has been nowhere near that in the last sixtee.n games which this season is over a third of a season regardless of who has been manager.

It’s only being perceived as a collapse now because we have fallen out of the playoffs but we have been on the pathway to where we are now for the past two months.
