Yes some use those services but Jet 2 and others won’t fly out of there so for your average holiday it’s pay the higher prices of Tui or fly from Leeds Bradford or East Midlands to get the better deals

A restricted ‘ menu’ and folks don’t want to dine there
Wizzair pulled out of DSA because the landing charges were too high for the budget airline to operate viably.
Apparently the high costs imposed by Peel for using DSA are also the reason other airlines do not use the airport.
It does make you wonder whether this was a deliberate strategy aimed at making a closure decision inevitable so they could pursue their objective of building on the land as happened at Sheffield.
