Climate change is real. Is man responsible? Not entirely IMO.

What I don't like is the guilt trip "they" try to send us on. The man in the street is being cajoled into EVs, Solar panels, expensive heat pumps and other things designed to get you to spend your savings on stuff that may, or may not, help the situation.

Here we are putting individuals and countries into ever more debt while China, India and others are pumping ever more CO2 into the air and the rich are doing ever more flights in their private jets. tens of thousands of people attending annual climate summits (COPxx).

With each and every passing year I'm getting more and more convinced that "those in charge" are edging us ever closer to a form of servitude where we've spent all our money on "save the planet" measures and the UK Covid guru is now pushing the "15 minute city" crap. The worst of it is, people appear to be "taking one for the world" rather than pointing out where we're actually going.

    Revolution. NOW!

The alternative is Trump, Gates, Musk et al telling you where your place is and keeping you there...

I'd agree with all of that, except why did you just pick those 3?
We have our very own zealot, in Milliband, who'd slab over every piece of farmland and beauty spot with wind and solar farms, whilst Rayner concretes over the rest.

The weather/ temp has and always will change. It has been going on a along time before man stopped walking on all fours.
Try reading up on the sun/ earth tilt/ solar flare activities( milankovitch cycles)

I'm all for the clean up the planet stuff, but this obsession with sending everyone into poverty for minimum effect is ridiculous.

I had hoped that sensible folk would see the "et al" in my post to which you replied and understand that I was including all such zealots and the term used was intended to avoid me having to name 473 or more names...

errrrrm no mate. Had you mixed the names up more before the et al, you'd have been correct.
But your personal stance influenced it

Good God! Now I've got a red Dog telling me what I should have written and that my "stance" influences things I post. I'll continue to type as little/much as I want thank you very much. etc and et al are perfectly good indicators of meaning and should not be demeaned.

I understand that this is a really complex issue that few, if any on here, have a genuine understanding of. I also understand that many of the problems caused, in this country at least, are the result of greed on the part of various planners and developers, however your quoted claims are utter nonsense.

Milliband does not want to ‘slab over every piece of farmland and beauty spot’ and Rayner doesn’t aim to ‘concrete over the rest’. That’s just not true is it? It’s a little like the Right wing press claiming that Labour are hell bent on impoverishing pensioners and destroying farmers. Take a tiny grain of truth and mix it with a huge dollop of fabrication and what do you get? Half truths and nonsense that gullible people accept as fact.

Agreed, although my view is that there are more than one 'they's' (maybe that's your view too), and 'we' are being influenced/ manipulated/ gaslit on a number of fronts, climate change being just one of them. With respect to most such fronts, my observation is that the plebicit for the most part know they're being 'had' in one way or another but are too weak, too confused or too comfy in other areas of their life to do anything about specifics, ie 'revolution'.

More. Indeed there are. Putin wants to recreate the old Soviet bloc. China wants Taiwan and lumps of Africa and Asia where they have bought tracts of land and own companies. Kim has expansionist ideas although I think he wants to travel on China's and Russia's coattails rather than going it alone. iran wants to expand in the Middle East as does Israel.

It'll all end in tears once one knob jockey hits the nuke button and the "opposition" reply in kind.
