Thread: Matt Taylor

I think few would argue that if Gore and Powell had been playing in the last 3 games, things would have been different. Before Gore got injured, which was by being barged by a player, we had had an unbeaten short spell, Powell was playing better. I assume you are including Powell in a frequent injury prone player?

As you say, there is a mixture of things, not least a poor keeper who twice let goals in trying to practically sit on a ball, and the donny fiasco. And dubious other things.
Quite a number of players are still here from 2 previous managers. I wouldn’t have liked to have no money to spend this summer, trying to prop up the side.

We can argue this and that every day, but what the current situation is goes far beyond before.

There is a disparity between Taylor and Hamshaw. When taking over Taylor the side took a nose dive. Under Hamshaw we did not.
The position here is all the injuries and keeping people fit.
Hamshaw may get the sack, but it won’t change anything.
Getting the players back like Gore and Powell should. If we get that break.

Using part time staff to fill full time high importance positions, letting the manager and so called fitness guy mark their own homework and not bringing in external expertise to do a full investigation and assessment, poor treatment of injured players like walking around in the cold instead of immediately treating them, doing scans on players days after the injury, not speaking out and asking for additional help (according to Paul Douglas), and perhaps our situation and confidence isn?t helping players to be motivated to make themselves available in a timely manner. Our board including the COO have a lot to answer for when it comes to the injury crisis but so does the recruitment team and the manager. However the fact we have yet another injury crisis gives MH an excuse and those that think he will eventually turn good, perhaps he will in the same way milk turns good if it is left out of the fridge for long enough. You could put 6 players from the Man city u21 team in our team and MH would still struggle to get a result, 7 points in 14 games, repeat that and we won?t even make 40 points this season, He is one of the worst managers I have seen in charge of Rotherham, not the worst but one of the worst.
Do you mean the Man City u21 what lost here 4-2? Because they had 11 players not just "your" 6 selections.

I was using them as an example and you know it, the point being it isn't the players he has it is his ability to manager. In the latest interview he pleads for more time to turn it around, yet again referring to the past, yet again talking of missing players, but he never actually explains what are they doing to address the issues. The fact that he can't get a 90 minute performance out of his team, the fact that we can't score goals or create clear chances, the fact that we have 7 points from 14 games, which is 0.5 points a game. The fact we took ZERO points from two relegation rivals.

You never know we might take 6 points from the two home games and then go on a run but don't hold your breath.

Hopefully that stops some on here wanting to take us backwards.
