Nothing to suggest it will be a relegation battle. Our form since Eustace came in was top 6. While I don't think we will be top 6 I'm confident he can have us competing in the top half of the table.

Hearing, from a reliable source, that Batth and Weiman are done deals and that two strikers are close, but I don’t know who so that’s not much use.Originally posted by SithHappens View PostNothing to suggest it will be a relegation battle. Agree Sith. The form and organisation from a previously failing team since Eustace’s arrival suggests better things to come.
All depends on signings but I certainly expect top half at least.

The thing is too, Eustace did that with a team held together with string and sellotape. I'm quite excited for the new season.

Carlton Morris from Luton supposed to sign this week. As RA says strong indications that both Batth and Weiman will sign.
Batth would be a good signing, experienced and good cover and no doubt able to play in a back 3 should Eustace choose that formation. Weiman on a free again provides creativity and experience at low cost, Morris was poor for Luton last year, but then wasn't every player in their team? Eustace may well think he can reinvigorate him to be the player he was.

Signing someone called beck? Now that sends all sorts of things through my mind.Originally posted by swaledale View PostAnother rumour is the loan of Beck a LB from Liverpool, supposed to be at an advanced stage.
Had a look as hadn't heard of him. 22 played a fair bit online at blackburn so obvious were the link is.

Jake made the matchday squad after his knee injury last season but didn't get game time so might be a doubt. Lang?s and Nelson are out, it seems until Oct/Nov, so I think we may see 2 loanees incoming, one on a deal till January and the other for the season. That or a short term loan deal and a permanent one.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostNot going over old ground (and I never mentioned nine GP) but let?s not forget, we do already have Jake Rooney, Sondre Langas, Craig Forsyth, Matt Clarke and Curtis Nelson who are all proven in CD.
Cash will always be welcome in my book, but he is likely to cost big wages and can?t really afford to be a third or fourth Championship club choice.
Personally I think Sanderson, who JE has had at both Birmingham and Blackburn, seems the most likely but we?ve surely only got room and the financial resources for a maximum of one more CB.

Just back from a globe trot around Leipzig, Dubai, Abu Dhabi (couldn't find the Abu Dhabi County ground), Hong Kong, Almaty. Liege and Maastricht, getting back to the 'Dam yesterday tea time. Been following the rumours while away, looks like we're interested in 3515 players, 80% of whom are at, or have connections to, Blackburn. Nice to know pre season speculation from dumbass clickbait sites and FB pages never changes.

We flew into Dubai and, instead of overflying Israel as they usually do, the flight was delayed 4 hours waiting for approval to overfly Egyptian airspace, all down to the Iran/Israel skirmishes. A few hours after we landed, a 2nd plane from the same freight company arrived. They'd arrived after dark and had taken some impressive photos and videos (from Egyptian airspace) of the iron dome in action against incoming missiles in Israeli airspace.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View Posthave never been to Kazakhstan but its on the bucket list. looks like your timing for Dubai etc was just early enough before Trump would have disrupted plans
The Kazak's are very friendly folk. Most speak English. Almaty has a myriad of leafy, tree lined avenues, Traffic lights there having countdown clocks so you know precisely when they are going to change. From red to green seems sensible. Not so sure about green to red, though, as it tends to see them accelerate when the clock is approaching zero...

Phillips is I understand having a medical at West Brom, which is understandable, Given he was on what circa ?65k per week? we were never going to pay those wages for that position.
Batth if the rumours are true, will provide effective low cost good value experienced cover, a 1 year deal I'm hearing.

I guess most managers have a preference for players they have worked with and trust? Makes some sense, if they have played at this level and good players, their a known quantity in terms of relationship with and knowing the managers tactics and how they play. Every signing is a risk so minimising that risk makes sense IF the player is a good option.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostWho was on loan at.....Blackburn. makes Warne's supposed Rotherham obsession fade into the....
In terms of loans, if Eustace has a working relationship with say Liverpool and they have loaned him players before that makes sense from both sides of the arrangement.
Having said that, most of the players we have been linked with seem to be purely on the basis Eustace has worked with them at some time and as MA says, 95% can be ignored.
