If he really thought it was a work event, why didn’t he send everyone home when he saw they were drinking while at work? When I worked, bringing or drinking alcohol on company premises was classed as gross misconduct, punishable by instant dismissal. I can’t drive after consuming alcohol because it is known to impair judgement, but it seems running the country is ok even if you’re pissed. Also, this party invitation went out to around 100 Tories. Didn’t just a single one of them have the decency to say “we can’t do this, it breaks our own rules”? Apparently not. The despicable scumbag at the top isn’t the only one who shat on us, this party was apparently attended by 30 to 40 others. Not one of them has come forward and admitted their guilt, not even one. This should be the subject of a police investigation and every one of them named and shamed and forced to resign.

As my mate TheBlackHorse often says, we need to clear the cesspit. This would be a bloody good start.
I think that some of the 60 who didn't go probably weren't happy with it.

However there are still many unanswered questions.

Did Johnson know about the email? Seems highly unlikely that he didn't know about the event - and who is the 'we' referred to in the invite?

mr blobby johnson's dragging the police down to tory level of cronyist morality too though, so... as you were: one rule for plebs and NHS workers, another for toffs
If they need a witness they could invite the Policeman who was stood at the front door all night letting everyone in who was carrying a bottle of fizz, single malts and other requested tipples, to give evidence! just a random thought ...

      • Yesterday, and every interview they are taking the 'Wait for the report' line. Yet it is reported that the first thing BJ did after PMQ was to go to the Westminster tea rooms to get his point of view over to the backbenchers.

He obviously believes he has done nothing wrong - but they do appear to have good business meetings!

I believe they all are being honest, frank and as decisive as they can be facing this dreadful world-changing virus. I just wish they would not allow the lowlife gutter press particularly the Sun, Mirror & Daily star at these briefings who ask the most bazaar and stupid questions just to try and get a headline. These are strange and frightening times unknown by pretty much most of us, almost a war-like situation but it is what it is and at times like this the leadership being shown is just what the Country needs.
A lot has happened since this was posted😜

          • At last, a bit of good news. Sue Gray will submit her report before 2024.

One of his family now has Covid so he is unable to visit a vaccine centre as planned. Hope they are ok, the timing fits nicely to keep the PM away from the media.

Well, well well. Barry Gardiner, having a drink in a garden or taking hall a million from a Communist spy, which do you think is worse.

Good to see our resident Tory arselicker is back offering his incisive political opinion!

So Boris shafting the country is ok, because somebody once did something worse!!!

As Johnson accused of ‘cover-up’ over Kremlin interference, major new Russian donations to Conservatives revealed – despite previous Tory pledge to distance themselves from Russian money.

I didn't refer to drinks in a garden. Rather Mr. Johnson's ability to always avoid the tough questions (apart from PMQ when he has no choice). Are you proud of our illustrious leader who hid in a fridge / freezer?

Surely even you can see that it's about far more than drinks in a garden - this is just the straw that broke the camel's back on top of all the other stuff, lies, misleading etc etc. 'Apology' at 12.00, an hour later telling MPs that he'd done nothing wrong.

Today JRM showed his colours, calling the leader of the Scottish Conservatives lightweight, or his role - same thing though.

Priti Patel came out to support BJ totally, yet she had said previously that she would report a neighbour holding a party. You couldn't make it up.

                          • What is the problem? Anyone can see these are technically not parties but work meetings.

                            • Wow, that’s Soccerman caught between a rock and a hard place! He idolises the Tories and he idolises the Royal family in equal measures, so who does he side with on this one?

The answer is that he’ll ‘do a Boris’. He’ll run away, hide, and avoid the question.

I think it's another Boris tactic of diversion.Revealing other parties that were far worse than his own will hopefully divert all the public and media attention to this one.
What better way to stir public angst than people partying whilst the queen had to mourn alone..!
I tell you hes a genius
