I’m deeply sceptical about the notion that the state provides laptops for three reasons:
1. There would be no reason for them to be provided by the state;
2. If they were provided, GB News, The Daily Mail, The Daily Express and The Sun etc. would be all over it like a rash (they almost certainly bombard the Home Office with FOI requests hoping for bit of red meat that they can throw to their users); and
3. There are several charities that provide laptops to asylum seekers and other people in need, which wouldn’t be necessary if the state provided them. E.g.
https://www.charityexcellence.co.uk/...aptop-schemes/ and
I suspect it’s the activities of charities like that which have entered the social media machine and been morphed into ‘every asylum seeker gets a laptop’ stories for those who want to feel outraged by such things.

Starmer's fantastic deal is we send fifty back a week.Nearly 45000 illegal migrants have come over since this govt.came in,a 50% increase.Macron is just taking the piss and we've got a very very clueless weak leader who bows down to everything.This govt.must be the worst ever we've had.Originally posted by Stovicmiller View PostLike it?s been said put em in tents and give em **** all , then see how many come.

I may be corrected here but the British prime minister and the head of justice (quango and mate of prime minister) both made their fortunes challenging and milking this very system. Much of their fortune coming from the purse of the British tax payers.Originally posted by animallittle3 View PostLeave the European Court Of Human Rights
Like I say it could be wrong. I think that it was Starmer that forced the government to change their law whilst the other had great clients like Gerry Adams.

Two of Starmer's best known cases were representing Lee Clegg, a soldier who had been wrongly convicted of murder in Northern Ireland, and defending two environmental activist who were facing the corporate might of McDonalds in the 'McLibel' case. He did the latter for freeOriginally posted by frogmiller View PostI may be corrected here but the British prime minister and the head of justice (quango and mate of prime minister) both made their fortunes challenging and milking this very system. I guess that sort of stuff hasn't made its way on to Twitter.
